Spelthorne Farm is situated at the western end of Longford village. The farm offers a warm and friendly atmosphere with opportunities for people with carrying disabilities to work with farm animals and horticulture on its 7-acre site. It has a variety of farm animals including horses used for Riding for the Disabled. It is a small registered charity and is for the benefit of handicapped children and adults. It serves the local and surrounding areas providing a working farm environment with facilities specifically designed with disabled people in mind. The farm had been situated on the land which is now being developed into Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5. It moved to Longford in 1999 on a 10 year lease. The farm operates a small farm shop where plants and vegetables grown on the premises can be purchased. They are also glad to receive your old books which they sell to raise funds as well as your spent ink or toner cartridges which are sent for recycling, again raising cash for the farm. They can also accept your old plastic plant pots and other old garden equipment which they use at the farm. The farm is always glad of volunteers, either as helpers or as fund raisers. If you or your company can offer physical or financial assistance, contact the Farm Manager, Spelthorne Farm, Bath Road, Longford, Middlesex, UB7 0EF or phone 01753 680330. The farm's own website can be found by clicking this link. To view a photo album from the farm, click anywhere on the image below.
