On 7th June 2003, a march took place to protest against the proposed third runway at Heathrow Airport. The march started in Harlington, headed south to Bath Road, then west before heading north through Sipson and then on to Harmondsworth. The Police have told the Gazette newspaper that there were over 2,000 protestors by the time the march got to Harmondsworth.
